It’s hard to beat an accolade of “Best New Show in Australasia” and “Best Overall Show in New Zealand” as bestowed by the Exhibitions and Events Association of Australasia.
But the organisers of Canterbury buildnz designex (CBD) are hedging their bets on another winner as they open the doors to the South Island’s second biennial trade show for builders, designers, architects, specifiers and developers on August 4 – 6.
The region’s largest industry trade event returns to Christchurch’s Horncastle Arena, with more than 100 key exhibiting suppliers showing off the latest technology, products and solutions.

Market still going through huge transformation
Organisers XPO, who have run the successful version of buildnz designex in Auckland for more than 20 years, say their entry into Christchurch back in 2014 was well timed, and it’s still a market going through huge transformation.
“The Auckland build and construction market is getting all the headlines, but with just half of the Christchurch rebuild due for completion in 2016, CBD is the perfect opportunity to see the latest product developments and new technologies for the industry,” XPO events director Tony Waite says.
The value of CBD is obvious when you consider the industry heavyweights that are involved, including the Registered Master Builders Association.
The show includes a busy industry-led CPD and LBP-accredited educational and development seminar programme across the three days, available free of charge to all attendees.
In addition, the event will include special features, visitor prizes and exclusive VIP networking events.
Free registration is now open for industry professionals wishing to attend. Visit www.canterburybuildnz.co.nz to register and see a full list of CBD exhibitors.
